Welcome to Daventry Aikido club, Aikido is a Japanese defensive martial art,
based on projections (throws) and immobilisations (arm/wrist locks).

Aikido is not a competitive sport, but a non-aggressive martial art where we use what
our partner offers and harmonise with their 'attack', in order to explore ourselves, and
how we connect with others through the practice of self-defence.

All students learn at their own pace, learning to look after themselves and those that
they practise with, whilst learning respect for themselves and others, Aikido is not
about 'fighting'.

In the Dojo (club) we learn about positive and negative energy, through the practice of
positive and negative technique.

We can all read books, watch videos, go on the net, but to discover Aikido for yourself,
you need to 'feel' it.

Beginners and experienced students are welcome to visit, come along and discover Aikido,
for yourself.
